We are thrilled to announce an important new appointment to The United Group’s Board of Directors! Charles Adams, owner of Fanguy Bros. Wholesale, Inc., has joined the Board to fulfill the remainder of Bob Chasmar’s term. We are confident that Charles’s extensive experience and deep commitment to the TUG community will be an invaluable asset to our leadership team.
A Legacy in Distribution & Community Leadership:
Charles is a third-generation owner of Fanguy Bros. Wholesale in Houma, Louisiana, a testament to his long-standing roots in the distribution industry. His journey began early, working in the warehouse during his teenage summers and holidays. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Louisiana State University, Charles gained valuable experience in commercial banking, focusing on credit underwriting before returning to Fanguy Bros. Wholesale in 2001.
Starting as a special accounts manager, he steadily moved into management, taking on increasing operational and sales responsibilities. In June 2024, Charles purchased controlling interest of the company from other family members, though he continues to consult regularly with his father, David. Beyond his professional achievements, Charles has consistently dedicated his time to his community, serving on the Executive Committees for the Terrebonne Economic Development Authority and the South Louisiana Youth Shooting Sports Foundation, as well as the Louisiana Restaurant Association Bayou Chapter Board.
A Dedicated TUG Leader:
Fanguy Bros. has been a valued TUG member since 2004, and Charles has played an increasingly active role within our group. His commitment is evident through his long tenure on TUG’s Jan/San Committee from 2013 to 2022. He then transitioned to the Foodservice Committee in late 2022, where he currently serves as Committee Chair. This hands-on experience within TUG’s committees positions him exceptionally well for this new leadership role on the Board.
Vision for the Board:
Charles is deeply grateful for his involvement with TUG and looks forward to serving on the Board of Directors. He firmly believes that the diverse skills honed through his professional affiliations will translate effectively to support TUG’s future. He credits great leaders and mentors, including his father and many individuals he’s met through TUG, for shaping his perspective. Having developed close relationships with many TUG members, whom he considers more like family, Charles is committed to making calculated decisions that truly represent the best interests of the entire TUG community.
